‘Fight The Flow’ Campaign Comments Policy

Overview

‘Fight The Flow’ is a disease awareness campaign for heavy menstrual bleeding, which has been developed and funded by Bayer plc, a pharmaceutical company. For the campaign, we have partnered with influencers to create and fund educational content on social media, aimed at raising awareness of this recognised medical condition. Your comments on this content are welcome, subject to the terms of engagement set out below. 

 

As a pharmaceutical company, Bayer operates within a regulated industry, including compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Having commissioned and paid for the influencer’s content, Bayer, must adhere to specific rules including in relation to communication on social media channels. We may need to block and/or remove your comment from our funded content if it is deemed inappropriate or violates our regulatory obligations. Therefore, Bayer reserves the right to remove comments, including pictures or videos from our funded content at its sole discretion, if they do not align with our guidelines or industry regulations.

Talking About Products

Bayer cannot endorse, or permit any paid influencer to endorse, any user comments about our products or any other pharmaceutical brands. If a comment mentions a specific product, whether positively or negatively, Bayer may require it to be removed and may ask the influencer to remove that comment from their channel.

 

 

Talking About Medical Issues and Patient Safety

Bayer cannot discuss or permit any paid influencer to discuss medical conditions or give medical advice to any individuals or groups, via comments or any other form of dialogue. Inappropriate user comments discussing medical conditions may be blocked and/or removed at the request of Bayer and at its discretion. If you have questions about your health, please talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

 

Bayer considers patient welfare to be of paramount importance and take all reports in relation to our medicines very seriously. Side effects, can occur with the use of any medicines, should be reported to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse and not on this content. Side effects should also be reported to the UK regulatory (governmental) authority who collate all such reports. Reporting forms and information can be found at https://yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/. By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information on the safety of medicines.

 

However, in the event that you do post or report, on or through the influencer’s channel, information regarding a side effect (adverse event) or product defect relating to a Bayer product, then that information will be reported to Bayer by the influencer in line with Bayer’s legal obligation and legitimate interest to monitor the safety and performance of its products.  Any personal data shared with Bayer will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy [https://www.bayer.com/en/dppv].

 

Talking About Appropriate Communication

As we respect all visitors to this content, in return we ask that everyone treat each other with respect. However, Bayer does reserve the right to require the removal of any comments at its sole discretion.  If you use profane language, your comment will be removed.  In addition to vulgar language, we will be screening for the following and will require its removal at Bayer’s discretion:-

 

  • Personal insults or degrading comments of any kind, disparaging comments about institutions, organisations or companies, sexist or racist comments, or hate propaganda, calls to violence of any kind, calls to join in demonstrations or rallies of any political orientation

  • Any violation of the rights of third parties, including in particular copyrights, comments that do not relate to the messages under discussion or are off topic

  • Offering goods or services, of either a commercial or private nature or using the Instagram page as an advertising space

  • Spam, i.e. any form of automatically generated content or repeatedly posting the same comment

  • Information that is misleading, inaccurate or out of date, or promotes illegal or unsafe activity.

     

While Bayer do our best to monitor comments, Bayer is not responsible for the opinions or information shared by users.
