COMPLEMENTARY & ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES:

Acupuncture, an ancient Chinese practice, involves the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body. Its benefits on hot flushes and sleep patterns in postmenopausal women in clinical trials is unclear and has been reported to be similar to sham acupuncture (i,e placebo)

Yoga, a mind-body practice, incorporates physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation, which are relaxing things which may help reduce stress.

Some people use food products, extracts, and dietary supplements such as black cohosh for menopausal symptoms. Some of these have a long history of use in women’s health but it's important to remember that their quality can vary and there can be a lack of evidence to show they work. So, it's always a good idea to check with your healthcare provider before trying something new.
